Who says weddings have to be traditional? If you are looking for a unique and fun style that reflects your personality a themed wedding may just be what you are looking for. It can be a great way to relive a childhood memory or a favourite character and you are sure to have a celebration that you and your guests will never forget.

Epic Empire and Amini Concepts had the honour of styling an Alice in Wonderland themed wedding for Brisbane couple, Rachael and Tony. Rachael had a love for Alice and chose to incorporate this into her special day by selecting classic Alice colours of black, white and pink. Rachael was determined to have everything themed including her hair and dress. She teamed the streaks in her hair to to the detailing on her dress, and topped it off with a mini top hat ! So much fun!

The wedding was held outside as a way of creating an outdoor wonderland, and chose to use a variety of Epic Empire’s black and ivory signature pieces of furniture. Baroque dining chairs and lounge chairs, and a variety of Lola ottomans were used as seating for the ceremony. Black and white lamp posts posed as an entrance and a charcoal carpet was used for the aisle. Pink striped pedestals with quirky flower arrangements were placed where the couple said their vows. The couple chose to include red and white mushrooms and brightly coloured wooden flowers which were placed in amongst the gardens which was a very cute touch.

During the reception Tony surprised Rachael with a wedding present; a pinball machine, which she had wanted ever since she was a child and it was the perfect end to an amazing day. It truly was a fairytale wedding.

Summer is just around the corner and Epic Empire furniture hire is right behind it. We are always looking for inspiration and trends to incorporate into our events, and with this beautiful spring/summer feeling in the air, garden weddings are the way to go this season.

We were recently involved in styling a wedding with our sister company Amini Concepts where we teamed our ivory baroque furniture with bursting shades of pinks, blues, and lavender. The soft, floral scent in the air combined with lush greens, along with the chandelier flowing with seasonal hydrangeas and roses made for a rather enchanted backdrop.

Lola ottomans were transformed by fitted gold/ivory striped covers and were teamed with a carefully selected ‘random’ arrangement of ivory baroque armchairs, stools, ottomans and coffee tables. These vintage-inspired furniture pieces were mixed and matched to create seating for the ceremony. It was the perfect addition and created an intimate and elegant setting for the couple.
A palette of rose petals strewn up the aisle was just one added touch that integrated the untraditional, yet romantic atmosphere of this opulent Midsummer Night’s Dream setting.

Earlier this year we were fortunate enough to spend a few weeks in the style capital of the world, New York City! Inspiration surrounded us in the city that never sleeps; the glistening snow in Central Park, the shop windows on 5th Avenue and the cafes down in The Village. New York’s fashion and furniture trends are at the cutting edge, inspired by the latest furniture shows in Paris and Milan.

We came back inspired and with ideas flowing and have incorporated these stylish trends into Epic Empire’s new range of King Chesterfield ottomans and Imperial Baroque furniture. These pieces made their debut at Drift Restaurant looking stunning against the backdrop of the Brisbane River.
